My name is Josie Hoh. I was born in the California Bay Area and grew up as a teenager in San Diego. In high school, I marched the clarinet and was obsessed with photography. I coded my own music website, which gave me a technical eye for detail. I sang and danced in musicals, which brought out my joy in performance. In 2006, I discovered my love of pop culture at the SD Comic-Con and I have volunteered every summer since. I now create and wear a new costume every year for various conventions.
In college, I combined all of my passions into filmmaking. My greatest challenge was my Senior Thesis film about Steven Spielberg, which I fought at every level to get made. The film won 1st Place in the state-wide CSU Media Arts Festival and top awards at festivals across Southern California. In 2013, I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a a B.A. in Narrative Film Production and a Minor in Music.
Since then, I've had the privilege of working with over 300 artists to complete a trilogy of independent films. We brought people together, gave joy to our audiences, and made lifelong friends. I've created videos for companies, politicians, and individuals and developed a DCP & Blu-Ray service to help independent filmmakers. Each time I've improved as a filmmaker, I've also had to improve as a person.
In 2020, the global pandemic put me on a journey of self-discovery that challenged everything I had ever believed. What began as the hardest thing I've ever done, turned into the most important thing I've ever done. After 18 months, I came out as a transgender woman (she/her) and am the happiest I've ever been living as my authentic self. You can hear more of my story

I am a storyteller, filmmaker, and artist. I admire every type of art and love working with artists of all kinds. I've worked diligently to keep every promise that I've ever made, which is a motto that I live by today. I believe that we all have the power to change and become better people and so I continue to strive to be worthy of leadership and trust everyday. Let's make films together! - Josie
